The First Baptist Church, Floyd City, later known as First Baptist Church, Floydada was organized in 1891. The church first met in the home of Joe Arnold in Floyd City. As the years past, First Baptist Church has worshiped in school buildings, homes, and three different sanctuaries. After a fire destroyed much of the facilities in 2000, the current facilities were completed in 2003 which included a remodeled sanctuary and brand new education space, offices, library, and a fellowship center.
Though the building and people have changed over the years, First Baptist's mission to reach this community for Christ has not. The purpose of First Baptist Church is to honor God through witnessing, teaching, and ministering to all people. To achieve this mission we are committed to loving God and loving people. We believe the Bible to be our guide and Christ to be our example.
